Jerry Sharp, Jr, officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Young's Funeral Home- Ferriday. Fredrick Joseph Tyson was born on Monday, May 22, 1939 in St Joseph, LA. to Lottie Kelley Tyson and Oliver L. Tyson, Sr. and passed away Sunday, January 15, 2017. He graduated from Ferriday High and while attending NLU he participated in the ROTC program. In the early years he began his professional career as a roustabout with his father. Freddie Joe pursued his love of mechanical work by developing his company, F.J. Tyson Engine and Compressor Service and later retired in 2009. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lottie Kelley Tyson; father, O.L. Tyson, Sr.; sister, Margaret Morgan; brother, Oliver Tyson, Jr.; 2 daughters, Kathy Blount and Joy Simpson; grandson, Joe Evans; and nephew, Daniel Tyson. Freddie is survived by his wife of 30 years Kathy Tyson of Vidalia, LA; and daughters Donna Tyson Walker & husband Reggie of Natchez, MS, Kristy Edwards of Ferriday, LA, Ginny Cutrer & husband Phillip of Woodville, Chuck Moreland of Monterey, LA, and Kathy Moreland and Sherry Bourque of New Orleans, LA, one brother Ronnie Tyson of Ferriday, LA, twenty-three grandchildren, and a multitude of great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Pallbearers will be grandsons Chance Edwards, Christopher Houghton, Everett Holloway, Jarred Edwards, Jonathan Dodson, Phillip Cutrer II, and Stephen Crain. Honorary Pallbearers are Butch Graves, Gilford Hamilton, Hill Baker, JD Martin, and Tony Brocato. Freddie Joe loved life and lived it to the fullest. Some of his most enjoyable pastimes included piloting his small plane, gardening, caring for his numerous pets, playing and listening to a variety of music, and drinking coffee with his many friends. Spending time with his family brought him a lifetime of happiness. He was an avid sportsman. One of his great loves was his camp on the Mississippi River. He derived great pleasure from donating the game of his hunting adventures. The family will receive friends at Young's Funeral Home on Friday, January 20, 2017 from 11AM til 1PM.
