Funeral services for Glenda Willett Byargeon, 81 of Vivian, LA , formerly a resident of Vidalia, LA for over 50 years, will be held at Young's Funeral Home, Ferriday ,LA on Friday, December 5, 2014 at 10AM with Rev. Clyde Ray Webber officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Natchez, MS, under the direction of Young's Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at Young's Funeral Home in Ferriday, LA on Thursday, December 4, 2014 from 5PM Til 8PM. Glenda Byargeon was born on Friday, July 28, 1933 in Tullos, LA to Jim Dee Willett and Lillie Belle Nugent Willett and passed away Tuesday, December 02, 2014 at her residence in Vivian, LA. She was a member of the Ferriday Church of God for many years. She taught Sunday School and served in many aspects of the Church. When she moved to Vivian, LA to be near her son and daughter-in-law Pam, she faithfully attended Vivian United Methodist Church as long as her health allowed. Glenda graduated from LaSalle High School in Olla, LA and from there went on to graduate from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, LA with a degree in Home Economics. Later she studied and received her Masters Degree from Louisiana State University. "Mrs. B" as she was affectionately known to so many students and friends worked in Jackson, Ouachita and Concordia Parish. "Mrs. B" was looked up to by many 4H achievers. She was known as the 4H Lady in Concordia Parish. Mrs. Byargeon retired from Concordia Parish where she was well known for her special skills and her kindness and generosity to help anyone in need. "Mrs. B" was considered, by many, to be the best pie maker around! She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and aunt. Her nieces Jan Watson Houck, Lisa Lancaster Smith, Lilah Lancaster Larkin, and nephew Joe Dee Lancaster always held a special place in her heart. Her love for her family and God had no limitation. She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Kirk Edwin Byargeon. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Bennie Byargeon of Vivian, LA; son, Gary Byargeon and wife, Pam, of Vivian, LA; two sisters, Bettye Downer of Vidalia, LA and Jimmie Lancaster of Ferriday, LA; two grandsons, Casey Byargeon and wife, Kristi, of Vivian, LA and Cale Byargeon and wife, Beth, of Vivian, LA; five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Pallbearers will be Casey Byargeon, Cale Byargeon, Lanny Lipsey, Tam Winston, Roy Rushing and J.T. Thompson The family requests that memorials be made to The Gideons, St. Jude or any Charity of your choice.
