Funeral services for Johnnie Ladd Donald, Sr., 86 of Vidalia, LA will be held at Vidalia First Baptist Church on Monday, March 23, 2015 at 1:30 PM with Dr. Ralph Webber and Bro. Bill McCullin officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Natchez, MS, under the direction of Young's Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at Vidalia First Baptist Church from 5:00 PM til 8:00 PM, Sunday, March 22, 2015 and from 12PM til service on Monday, March 23,2015. Johnnie was born on Monday, May 28, 1928 in Preston, MS. and passed away Friday, March 20, 2015 in Vidalia, LA. He was a resident of Vidalia and a member of Vidalia First Baptist Church where he was a member of the Church Adult Choir. Mr. Johnnie was the owner of Donald Camper Village and retired after 45 years of service with International Paper Co. He was a member of the Quarter Century Club, Recreation Vehicle International Association and Louisiana Automobile Dealers Association. He supported the local schools and sports activities and was considered one of their most dedicated committed supporter and encourager. He loved spending time with his Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren. Johnnie proudly served his Country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He is preceded in death by his parents, James Matt and Lizzie Viola Luke Donald, two brothers, Ray Donald and Russell Donald, two sisters, Ester Chisholm and Hazel Entrekin and grandson, Joseph Higgins. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Essie Mae Taylor Donald of Vidalia, LA, two sons, Johnnie Ladd Donald II of Vidalia, LA and Gerard W. Donald and his wife, Regina, of Baton Rouge, LA, two daughters, Pamela Higgins and her husband, Jimmy, of Vidalia, LA and Teressa Reynolds and her husband, Eddie, of Vidalia, LA, nine grandchildren, Jim Higgins, Miranda Higgins, Natalie Higgins, Glen Allen Donald, Rod Donald, Johnnie Ladd Donald III, Jerrry New, Keisha Fitt, and Rebecca Parker, and 21 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Jim Higgins, Glen Donald, Rod Donald, Johnny Ladd Donald III, Reggie Chandler, Ryan Thibadeaux, Adam Probst and Terrell Fife . Honorary Pallbearers will be Pat Galloway, Pat Biglane, Jay Welch, Claire Shields, Tommy Probst, Chuck Mayfield, Bo Strahan, Louis Foster, Roy McKenny, Rick Barfield and Dr. Kenneth Stubbs .
