Marty Kyle Probst

Funeral services for Marten (Marty) Kyle Probst, 59, of Vidalia, LA will be Wednesday, October 28th at 11:00 AM at Vidalia First Baptist Church in Vidalia with Dr. Ralph Webber, Sr. officiating. Graveside services will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Natchez MS under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home. Visitation for Mr. Probst will be held at Vidalia First Baptist Church in Vidalia from 5-8 PM, Tuesday, October 27, 2015 and from 10:00 AM until time of service on Wednesday. Mr. Probst was born on July 15, 1956 in Davenport, Iowa, to Juanita Wray Probst Hutson and was son to Dr. Edwin E. Hutson. He was an active member of Vidalia First Baptist Church where he had served as a deacon, a member of the Hope Sunday School Class, and a member of the choir. Marty loved his church family and they, in turn, loved him greatly. He also sang with The Messengers for 20 plus years and blessed many area churches with song. Marty was always trying to be a blessing to others by his many acts of kindness such as handing out peppermints at church and baking chocolate chip cookies for everyone he met. Marty was employed by Cook Lawn & Tractor of Natchez, MS as Assistant Manager and Parts Manager. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Dr. Edwin E. Hutson; father-in-law, John Gore; brother-in-law, Bren Gore and nephew Brandon Burnette. Survivors include his devoted wife of 37 years, Debra Gore Probst; son, Matthew Probst and wife Emily of Pineville, LA; daughter, Kimberly Warren and husband Eric of Natchez, MS; grandchildren, Madison Warren, Zack Warren, Bolton Probst and Maddox Probst; mother, Juanita Hutson of Brookhaven, MS; brothers, Bruce Probst and wife Amy of Mandeville, LA, Tommy Probst and wife Cheryl of Vidalia, LA; sister Benita Hutson of Brookhaven, MS; mother-in-law, Louise Gore of Vidalia; numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great nephews; and many cherished friends. Pallbearers will be Whest Shirley, Adam Probst, Joseph Purvis, Pate Shirley, Russell Cook, William Cook, Charles Stevens and Wesley Warren. Honorary Pallbearers are Dr. Edward Daly, Dr. Kenneth Stubbs, Dr. Blane Mire, Robert Warren, Robert Parker, James Martin, Art Verdel and Dan Brister. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Friends of Probst Benefit at Concordia Bank & Trust Co. in Vidalia, or the American Cancer Society.
