Mary Sanders Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Edna Sanders, 89, of Harrisonburg, LA will be 10 AM, Saturday at Meyers Bend Pentecostal Church with Rev. Mark Johnson, Rev. Bill Cotten and Rev. Lynell Hatten officiating , interment to follow in New Pine Hill Cemetery, under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home – Jonesville, LA. Mrs. Sanders a member of Meyers Bend Pentecostal Church, passed away Friday, November 7, 2013. She was a retired cook, cooked for Tug boats on the Mississippi as well as Nursing Homes and lastly for the Catahoula Parish Sheriff’s office. She fed and put a smile on many of faces over her years cooking. She was preceded in death by her parents Donald Meyers and Mammie Hughes Meyers, husband Owen Sanders, daughter, Ann Spears and a brother, D.F. Meyers, Jr. She is survived by her granddaughter Mary Spears of Harrisonburg, LA, son-in-law Charles Spears, sisters, Inez Johnson of Harrisonburg, LA and Doris Watson of Jonesville, LA, and brother Zack Meyers and his wife Bobbie of Harrisonburg, LA, numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Greg Terry, John Meyers, John Heard, Jody Floyd, Toby Floyd, Billy Floyd, Trey Watson and Devon Sanders. Honorary Pallbearers are Melvin Walker, Marty Smith, Dwaine Meyers, Wayne Meyers and Ronnie Meyers. Visitation is 5-10 PM Friday and 9 AM until service time Sunday at Meyers Bend Pentecostal Church.
