Shirley passes away in Thompson's Station, TN Mike was preceded in death by his parents, L.D. Shirley and Robbie Rogers Shirley, and close Uncle, Rev. Don Rogers, as well as maternal and paternal grandparents. Mike was also a special son-in-law and precedy by Stewart and Myrtle Allred Holland. Mike is survived by his wife, best friend and sweetheart Margaret Holland Shirley and his pride and joy, their daughter Julie Anne Shirley. Also Mike leaves behind one special brother, Gary L. Shirley of Natchez. Mike's extended family includes brother and sister-in-law Scott and Betty Taylor of Vidalia, LA, nephews Neil S. Taylor of Bossier City, LA and Brad S. Taylor and wife Scottye Byrne Taylor of Natchez, MS. Uncle Robert Shirley and wife Linda, Special aunt Bobbie Rogers Thomas and husband Jesse. Also great-nephew Lee S. Taylor, great-nieces Courtney Taylor-Schilling and husband Ryan of Bossier CIty, LA, Haley Taylor of Bossier City, LA and Morgan Taylor of Natchez. Mikie has numerous other family members including aunts, uncles, cousins as well as many close friends, business associates and clients. Our special neighbors Larry and Janice Lloyd and Gary and Gena Rogers of Thompson's Station, TN who have been such friends to Mike and Family during some rough times in the last couple of years, including the night Mike's passing. Mike was by profession a Financial Advisor and Planner. He was also an ordained minister and served all of his adult life working with Margaret in music ministry. He loved the Lord and his passion was praise and worship music and has written many songs. He was an accomplished musician and played numerous instruments, but loved his keyboard which he played regularly. Mike was well known, admired and respected professionally, but was also known as a loving husband and father. Mike never met a stranger, had a passion for people. He loved taking his daughter and disabled vets hunting. He often told Margaret that he loved to just go to the woods for the solitude, peace and time that he could spend communicating with the Lord. Pallbearers will be Neil Stewart Taylor, Brad Scott Taylor, Lee Scott Taylor, Whest Shirley, Pate Shirley and Tom Moore Honorary Pallbearers will be Rev. William H. Seale, Gary Messer, Brent Adkison, J.D. Whitehead and members of J&J Outdoors, Tennessee Officiating ministers will be Rev. Linus Vaughn, Murfreesboro, TN, a life-long friend and brother in the Lord, Rev. Julius Roberts, former pastor of Natchez Church of God and Rev. Brian Monehan, pastor of Natchez Church of God. The family will receive friends at Natchez Church of God (McNeely Road) from 6:00 PM til 9:00 PM, Wednesday, April 06, 2016 and from 12 noon til time of service on Thursday, April 07,2016.
