Funeral services for Mrs. Virginia Anderson Sibley, 84 ,of Clayton, LA will be held at Clayton Baptist Church on Sunday, February 22, 2009 at 11:00 AM with Bro John Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Young's Funeral Home in Ferriday. Mrs. Sibley was born February 9, 1925 in ,Mangham, LA and passed away Thursday February 19, 2009 at Terrebonne General Medical Center, Houma, LA. . She was a resident of Clayton and a housewife. She was a charter member of the Clayton Baptist Church serving in many different capacities and as secretary/treasurer, Sunday School teacher, providing beautiful flowers for the Altar each Sunday. She was a former member of the Ferriday First Baptist Church. She worked at the Concordia Parish Trade School for many years as secretary. She was a former member and president of the GFWC Community Service Club of Ferriday. She loved her home state of Louisiana and was a knowledgeable historian. She enjoyed her years of working for the Louisiana Tourist Bureau. Together with her sisters and their family she enjoyed hunting, fishing and many outdoor activities She was preceded in Death by: Parents -Richard Bethea and Earleen Weems Anderson Sister-Willa Catherine Taunton Sister-Bonnie Jean Robertson Brother in law-Travis "Doc" Taunton Brother in law-Edward Robertson Survivors include: Son-Rick and wife Neeva Sibley of Monterey, La. Daughter-Karen and husband Sam Endres of Gainesville, Texas Daughter-Susan and husband Alan Tompkins, Houma, La. Grand children-Richie and wife Jan Sibley of Baton Rouge, La. Grand children-Stephen and wife Sandra Sibley of Markville, La. Grand children-Angie and husband Mark Eason of Gainesville, La. Grand children-Jeannie and husband Sam Almerico of Houston, Texas Grand children-Becky Endres of Gainesville, Texas Grand children -Jacob Endres of Gainesville, Texas Grand children-Michael Tompkins of Houma, La. Also surviving are 9 great grandchildren The Pallbearers will be Richie Sibley, Stephen Sibley, Jacob Endres, Michael Tompkins, Richard Robertson, Pat Robertson, Brent Taunton and Mark Taunton. The Honorary Pallbearers will be Chuck Sibley, Buck Andrews and Sammy Parker The family asked that any planned memorials be made to Clayton Baptist Church.
