Funeral services for Nadine Rose Alford, 87 of Ferriday, LA will be held at Young's Funeral Home in Ferriday on Monday, October 11, 2010 at 2:00 pm with Rev. W. L. Tullos officiating. Interment will follow at Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Home. Nadine Alford was born on January 18, 1923 in Quanah, Texas and passed away Friday, October 8, 2010 at Natchez Regional Medical Center in Natchez. She was a resident of Ferriday, for 67 years, and a member of "Love Circle" at Ridgecrest Baptist Church. She was a very loving and giving lady, who loved her family and friends. She was homemaker for most of her life, until her husband past away, when she was 50 years old. At age 52, she went to work at Raymond's Department Store. After Raymond's closed, she went to work at Wal-Mart in Ferriday, as a Door Greeter. She worked for Wal-Mart for 22 years, and often said that she went to Wal-Mart for "Hugs and Smiles". Ms. Nadine never met a stranger. She enjoyed making quilts and watching football. Heaven has now been blessed with the best door greeter. She was preceded in death by: Husband-L. V. Alford Parents-James Allen and Maude Ophelia Allred Sister-Ruth Barksdale Brother-James Allen "Jr." Allred Daughter-in-Law-Linda Alford. Survivors include: Son-Vernon Alford of Hartford, AL Daughter-Dorothy Weadock of Natchez, MS Daughter-Diane Tullos and husband Wayne of Natchez, MS Brother-Grady Allred of Franklinton, LA Brother-Leonard Allred of Jackson, LA Sister-Telois Miles of Berryville, AR. 4 Grandsons: Ashley Weadock, and wife Rose, of Natchez Brent Weadock, and wife Kacey, of Natchez Kevin Smith, and wife Julie, of Shoreham, New York Greg Alford, and wife Amanda, of Ashland, Oregon 9 Great-Grandchildren: Alex, Drew, Blake, Ethan, Chance, Salome, Jake, Gabby, and Avery. She was also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. The Pallbearers will be -Ashley Weadock, Brandon Allred, Brent Weadock, David Freeman, Donald Weadock, Kevin Smith, Mike Allred and Rob Allred. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Employees at Wal-Mart. The family will receive friends Young's Funeral Home Ferriday from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Sunday, October 10, 2010.
