Funeral services for Paul Marshall Scott, 81 of Wildsville, LA will be held at Evangeline Baptist Church on Thursday, June 13, 2013 at 3 PM with Bro. Curtis Smith, Bro. Dennis Baker and Bro. Gary Wagoner officiating. Interment will follow at Evangeline Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Home. Paul Scott was born on September 8, 1931 in Wildsville, LA and passed away Monday, June 10, 2013 at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria, LA. In 1972 Paul was elected Constable of 5A in Concordia Parish. In 1973 he went to work for Concordia Parish Sheriffs office. In 1979 he went to work for the 7th Judicial District Attorneys office serving under 4 separate District Attorneys for 34 years as Chief Investigator and District Director until his death. He was President of LA District Attorneys Investigators Association, served on Red River Delta Board and an elected member of the National Democratic Committee. Paul was a certified Psychological Stress Evaluator operator. He also received numerous Law Enforcement awards as well as a graduate of many Law Enforcement Schools. Paul was a member of Evangeline Baptist Church and proudly served his Country in the United States Air Force, and was a Korean veteran. He was a loving and proud husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who loved spending time with his family. He was a great mentor to many young law enforcement professionals. He was preceded in death by: Father-Paul Scott Mother-Alma Hornsby Scott Sister-Bettye Scott Glynn Granddaughter- Micah Scott LeBlanc Survivors include: His Loving Wife of 62 years- Lily Jones Scott of Wildsville, LA Son-Marshall Payne Scott of Monterey, LA Daughter-Paula Scott Blount and her husband Don of Monterey, LA Daughter-Debra Jo Scott of Wildsville, LA. 5 Grandsons- Marshall Payne Scott Jr., Nolan Blount, Scott Passman, Beau Passman and Jon Passman 5- Granddaughters- Amy White, Wendi Barrett, Rayne Guthrie, Madeline Scott and Miranda Montpelier Special Cousin- Carrie Scott Wilkins and her husband Jim of Denver, CO 13 great grandchildren-Sydney and Weston White, Chance and Cayleigh Cooper, Carli Scott, Cameron LeBlanc, Andrew, Nathan and Talon Blount, Saban and Arlyn Montpelier and Kade and Madison Passman. Pallbearers will be Marshall Payne Scott Jr., Nolan Heath Blount, Darron Chance Cooper, William Scott Passman, Beau Garrett Passman, Jon Marshall Passman, Kade Scott Passman and Glenn Paul Glynn Honorary Pallbeares will be Brad Burgett, Employees of the 7th Judicial District Attorneys Office, Sheriff Kenneth Hedricks and Concordia Parish Sheriff Office, Sheriff James Glenn Kelly and Catahoula Parish Sheriff Office, Randy Maxwell, LA Attorney General Buddy Caldwell,Ronnie Book, John Sturgeon, Bobby Sheppard, Leo Boothe, Don Blount, Ty White, Josh Barrett, Matt Guthrie, Jason Montpelier and Charles Lanehart The family will receive friends at Evangeline Baptist Church from 5 PM to 9 PM Wednesday, June 12, 2013.
