Rex Orville Burget

Services for Rex Orville Burget, 60, of Lake Concordia, who died September 17, 2010, 2010, at his residence, will be at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 19, 2010 at Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday. Rev. Johnny Phillips will be officiating and Sheriff Randy Maxwell will be speaking. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until service time 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home on Sunday, September 19, 2010. Mr. Burget was born on December 21, 1949 in Kansas, the son of Orville Kenneth Burget and Florence Moore Burget. Rex was educated Kansas and in Jena, LA. In 1969, he graduated from RETS Electronic and Technology School in New Orleans with associates degree in electronics engineering. Rex began his career at Sears in Natchez, followed many years with Schlumberger, where he took a medical retirement in January 2001, in order to receive a kidney transplant. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two siblings: Mavis Burget Hull and Charles (Chuck) Burget. Survived by his wife of 40 years, Sandy of Lake Concordia, a daughter, Tracy of Pineville, a son, Bradley Rex Burget and wife Heather , and two grandchildren, Barrett and Adeline Burget all of Vidalia; one brother, Danny and wife Loretta of Topeka, KS and two sister, Kathy and husband, Boggie of Las Vegas, NV. and Bobbie Willison of Tucson; two sisters-in-laws, Linda Peek and husband, Jimmy of Ferriday and Julie Edwards of Monroe, brother-in-law, Dickie Barrett and wife, Deb of Ferriday. Nieces and Nephews: Barry Peek, of Ferriday, Brian and Kristy Peek of Baton Rouge, Shelia and Dabo Lillie of Ferriday, Richie and Melissa Barrett of Monterey, Brandi and Jay Traylor of Monroe, Jeff and Tammy Hull, Kelly Hull of Tucson, Jeff and Sarah Deason of Las Vegas, Rick and Naomi Burget, Karen and Bill Yost, Linda and Hester Gardine, Tony and Rhonda Burget of Topeka, KS, and Mike, Becky Burget of Texas and Julie Pratt of Tucson. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Case, Clyde Gousett, John Hill, Sam Matson, Vernon Stevens, and Ronnie Walker. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Evergreen Presbyterian Ministries (Central Louisiana 920 Main St. Pineville, LA. 71360). All friends and family will gather at the family home, after the service.
